Health & safety at Purbeck Civil Engineering

Health and safety is simply not a compliance exercise for us, but rather a fundamental to how we work. Every decision we make on site, from planning how a job will be approached through to the PPE our team members wear, is made with the safety of our workforce, our clients and the public in mind.

Our commitment to safe working practices has been a consistent feature of our approved contractor status with Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council and Aster Properties, and is essential to our ability to work across establishments in the region.

Method statements & risk assessments

We prepare comprehensive Method Statements (RAMS) for all projects prior to works commencing. These are available to clients, principal contractors and site managers on request, and we tailor them specifically to the scope and conditions of each individual project. We do not use generic documents.

Health & safety policy

Our full Health and Safety Policy is available to clients upon request. It reflects our obligations under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all relevant associated legislation, and is reviewed and updated regularly.

PPE & site standards

All operatives wear appropriate PPE at all times on site, as a minimum standard and beyond where site conditions require. We maintain clean, organised sites and ensure that all waste is managed correctly and access is controlled appropriately.
